A Premiere Location for Your Wedding Reception

While the focus at Plains Art Museum is usually on our exhibitions and the educational services we offer the community, we have a few other tricks up our sleeve and is was a pleasant surprise to have one of them recognized recently.

A couple weeks ago, the Museum was named a premiere destination for a wedding in North Dakota by the magazine Martha Stewart Weddings in an article entitled “50 Ways to Wed in the United States.” The article cites one of the Museum’s finest assets – the building itself. With its open floor plan and the aesthetic touches throughout, we can host a large number of people and surround them with a beautiful atmosphere, a perfect setting for a wedding reception. Our downtown location means we’re in close proximity to a number of hotels, restaurants, and shops. Most importantly, we have a dedicated and attentive staff to help with any detail of your special day.

The use of the Museum for your wedding (or other event) offers you a spectacular venue, but it also helps us to fulfill our mission of bringing people and art together. The revenue generated through our facility rental helps pay staff salaries, keeps the lights on, and keeps the heat on. When you hold your event here, you’re also helping to sustain an important cultural institution for the Fargo-Moorhead community and for the state of North Dakota.

We weren’t the only art museum to be recognized by Martha Stewart Weddings – the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Shaw Center in Baton Rouge, La., were two others, with a few other arts institutions recognized as well. Perhaps it speaks to the power of the arts and of an artfully focused location to be the ideal place for one of the most important days of your life.
