Join us for an artful two-day trip to Rochester, Minn., to visit Judy Onofrio at her amazing home and studio, called “Judyland.” We will also visit the Rochester Art Center, which opened a new building several years ago and presents an exciting array of contemporary art. After a night in Rochester, we head east to visit the Minnesota Marine Art Museum on the banks of the Mississippi in Winona, Minn. The Museum has an astonishing collection that includes work by Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso, and Georgia O’Keeffe. On the swing back north, we’ll stop to see the just-opened and expanded Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis.
The bus leaves the museum the morning of Monday, October 10, and returns in the evening on Tuesday, October 11. The cost is $95 for members and $105 for non-members, (covers bus transportation and museum admission fees) plus $105 (includes tax) for one hotel room. Hotel costs can be lowered by sharing a room. Bring money for meals and miscellaneous expenditures.
To register and pay, email Sandy Ben Hain at sbenhaim@plainsart.org or call 701.232.3821 x 109 with credit card information by Friday, October 1, 2011. You will pay hotel costs upon check-out. There will be no refunds, however registrations are transferable. Limit is 25 people.
