Russ Pfaff Jazz Quartet - Wednesday, August 20

Mark Proulx - September 17

Born and raised further north of Fargo/Moorhead, Mark Proulx arrived on the FM scene six years ago and hasn't looked back since. His music could best be described as a mix of folk, pop, and country fused together with plenty of Top 40 radio appeal to create a sound that is widely accepted as what Mark calls "good stuff that people usually listen to."

Performing as a solo acoustic act for the better part of past two years has given Mark a chance to grow as a songwriter and lyricist. The inspiration for many of his surprisingly upbeat songs stem from a very positive outlook on life.

Sarah Morrau - Oct 15

Sarah Morrau is a singer and songwriter with a passion for impacting people with music and a belief in the healing power of music. Her music and performances have been described as mellow and soothing.

She performs with pianist Rebekka DeVries, and with a jazz combo featuring bassist Bill Law and guitarist Tim Hoffelt. Morrau has performed throughout the region including featured performances at area churches, The Plains Art Museum noon holiday concerts, and the annual Celebration of Women and Their music. She has recorded two solo CDs, To Hold You (1999) and Storm Warning (1997) and in 2002 recorded a Christmas album, Halleluiah with musicians Nita Velo and Connie Hill. Her third solo CD will be released the fall of 2008. Her repertoire is a mix of standards, torch songs and folk music.

Plains Art Museum, 704 First Avenue North in Fargo is bringing back a popular music series after a five-year hiatus. The series, Rush Hour Music, will showcase a variety of high quality musical acts and will happen 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month.

Concert attendees enjoy informal bistro-style seating in the Landfield Atrium. Café Muse by Green Marketing Catering will offer a changing menu of small plates “tapas-style”—a Mediterranean dining tradition that is perfect for listening to good music and enjoying a glass of wine or beer. The menu will offer housemade breads, artisanal cheese and meat plates, salad, soup, a few entrée items (served in hors d’oeuvres portions), and dessert. A wide selection of beers, wine and other beverages are also available for purchase. Performance and gallery admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5 per person.
