In this painting, Bruhn depicts “cherrie beans,” a symbol of the harvest season for the Ngobe Indians of the Republic of Panama, the country where Bruhn was born and raised. This is one in a series of paintings she has created celebrating the culture of the Ngobe. Bruhn’s work has been included in many regional and national art exhibitions and has twice won a Gold Medal Award in the Red River Watercolor Society National Exhibition.
