Hornung was born and raised in North Dakota, and all of her work takes on a regional flair. With this piece, her goal was to personify the songs and folklore of the prairie. Hornung is also the model on the cover of this year’s Gala catalog and poster. She is currently finishing a bachelor’s degree in art and history.
