Pray for Rain invokes simple and powerful imagery in a compact image. It’s overall shape suggests a chapel or church, one that frames a woodland scene with a character searching for something to fill her empty bowl. An angelic figure watches and prays from above. The understated use of thought-provoking motifs is a strong element of Morrissey’s style. She received her M.F.A. from Indiana University and currently lives in Fargo.
