The Chartreux is a French domestic cat breed known for its Mona Lisa smile. Here, Skoropat explores the contrasts of his own cat, a calm and gentle giant with a steady purr, with a painting created specifically for the 2011 Spring Gala, held during the Vietnamese Year of the Cat. Aside from painting, Skoropat arranges and performs music and is involved with printmaking, photography, fiber art, graphic design, calligraphy, and book arts.
