This piece was inspired by Plains Art Museum’s landmark Individual to Icon exhibition and was made specifically for this year’s Spring Gala Art Auction. Using a photograph of Skoropat by Mark Anthony (who used a photograph of Andy Warhol by Victor Skrebneski as inspiration), this piece marks a notable return to painting for Skoropat – the first such major work in this medium since 1973.
