The Fargo-Moorhead area has a long history of being a center of artistic creation and support for the arts, resulting in artist organizations such as the Fargo-Moorhead Visual Artists (FMVA), the Minn-Dak Woodturners, and the Red River Watercolor Society. This summer, Plains Art Museum is proud to partner with the Red River Watercolor Society on a national exhibition of some of the most significant and prolific watercolor artists working today.
The 23rd Annual National Watermedia exhibition includes artworks juried by Illinois native, master watercolorist and instructor Tom Francesconi. Artworks in the exhibition encompass a range of artistic expression from abstraction to realism. This exhibition is brought to you thanks to the work of many, including Fargo artists Karen Bakke and Diane Harrison.
