Philosophy for All Fargo-Moorhead is open to everyone interested in philosophy. Its aim is to approach philosophical problems in a non-technical way to enable everyone to participate in discussion and debate. It aims to combine serious philosophical activity with an informal exchange of ideas and views.  

Topic: What’s Interesting About Boredom?

In Fundamental Concepts of Metaphysics Martin Heidegger offers a remarkable 90 page analysis of boredom. By means of careful phenomenological description and analysis, Heidegger argues the the mood of profound boredom unveils the deepest nature of human existence, especially the temporality of that existence.

Presentation by George Connell, Concordia, followed by discussion.
