The Fargo Project
Public brainstorming and design session

April 29, 12:30 pm • Rabanus Park, & Carlson Library, Fargo

Plans are continuing to move forward with The Fargo Project, a community-based effort to create a new outdoor space in Rabanus Park. The space is a large, 18-20 acre grassy area contoured to hold water during storms and floods. In an effort to provide beauty, respite, leisure, play, and creative exploration for all ages, the Fargo Project Team is engaging the community and seeking creative ideas. Public input is key to the project, as city residents of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to help create a place full of nature, wonder, and discovery in the middle of the city.

A public brainstorming session will be held Sunday, April 29, at 12:30 p.m. in Rabanus Park. Afterward, the session will move indoors to the James Carlson Library/Ed Clapp Senior Center at 2801 32nd Ave S. RSVPs are requested but not mandatory. RSVP to Nicole Crutchfield at ncrutchfield@cityofffargo.com.

The Fargo Project is a collaboration between the City of Fargo, Plains Art Museum, and Riverkeepers, with funding provided by the National Endowment for the Arts’ “Our Town” initiative. Environmental artist Jackie Brookner is lead artist on the project, with Michael Strand serving as local artist coordinator, and Dwight Mickelson, Loretta Cantieri, and Al Ness also participating.
