This sculpture has the profile and form of a bomb, but a closer inspection reveals the word “art.” The work is not intended as a glorification of military power, rather the power of art as a weapon, a weapon that has the power to shift perception, views, perspective, maybe even beliefs. I felt appropriate to create an image that would remind the public that here in the Museum we sit on an armory of images and ideas that, when shared, can lead to a greater sense of empathy rather than apathy.
