Color Improvisations 3 features 42 colorful, larger-than-life quilts that celebrate the expressive possibility of color in contemporary textile art. Curated by celebrated artist Nancy Crow, the exhibition showcases the work of 38 quilt makers from the United States, Canada, and New Zealand, each contributing a newly created piece developed specifically for this project. The quilts on view reflect a remarkable range of artistic voices, yet they share a common commitment to innovation. Visitors will encounter bold compositions, daring palettes, and meticulous craftsmanship that pushes the boundaries of the medium.
This exhibit toured in Germany in 2024. Its North American debut was at the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2025, and it will continue to tour in North America until 2029.
