Every other year, the Fargo-Moorhead Visual Artists (FMVA) invites its member artists to respond to a creative challenge tied to a specific theme. For this edition of Constraint, artists were asked: What Do You Think It Looks Like?
The resulting exhibition showcases the wide-ranging talent and imagination of FMVA members, with works that span a variety of media and approaches. Whether literal, abstract, playful, or conceptual, each piece responds uniquely to the prompt and encourages viewers to bring their own interpretations to the conversation.
FMVA supports and promotes the visual arts in the region through exhibitions and events such as the Big Exhibition at West Acres, the Visual Talks lecture series at Plains Art Museum, and the annual fall Studio Crawl. Constraint offers a snapshot of the vibrant creativity unfolding across our local arts community.
