Plains Art Museum Announces Let’s Get Through This Together Campaign
For Immediate Release (March 2020)
Fargo, North Dakota – Effective immediately, Plains Art Museum is launching the campaign “Let’s Get Through This Together,” a community fundraising campaign to ensure that that the region can continue to depend on the existence of the Museum and its Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity in the years to come.
As the COVID-19 pandemic is sweeping the nation, Executive Director and CEO, Andrew Maus, anticipates that Plains Art Museum will incur approximately $325,000 of lost revenue in the immediate future and potentially more losses down the road as a result of the necessary precautions it has taken to assist in curtailing the virus’s spread. “COVID-19 is causing a perfect storm of problems that threaten the sustainability of the Museum. The majority of your art museum’s income depends on the gathering of people, and this income is very suddenly gone. Now is the time for the community to stand up and show what kind of city Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo really is,” said Maus.
Plains Art Museum’s mission is to connect art, artists, and audiences to foster creative, resilient, and welcoming communities. This mission leads the Museum to activating our community with exhibitions, events, classes, public art projects and more. The Museum also provides arts education to k-12 students throughout the metro’s school districts, and facilitates the innovative teen internship program Buzz Lab.
Plains Art Museum has acted as a joiner for the Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo region for 45 years. We now ask the public to assist us at this time so we may continue to do so for many years to come. Please go to https://plainsart.org/lets-get-through-this-together/ and support us today. Let’s get through this together.
