Celebrating Youth Art Month
School Spirit: Celebrating Youth Art Month, now in its 17th year, showcases the talents of regional K-12 art students from over 40 area schools in a variety of media. This exhibition celebrates our region’s emerging artists and promotes awareness of the vital work done by art educators.
Art connects students to themselves and each other, reaches students in new ways, and transforms the learning environment into a place of discovery. Arts education develops creative problem solving, communication, critical thinking skills, and self-esteem; all are vital to the success of today’s youth.
Exhibition Reception
Sunday, March 3, 1 – 4 PM
Free and open to the public
Elementary: 1 – 3 PM / Middle and High School: 3 – 4 PM
Share in the excitement at this artist reception for students, friends, family, and educators. Light refreshments and art-making projects offered, with music performances by Fargo Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies at 2 and 3 PM.

This installation was created specifically for the atrium at Plains Art Museum as part of the exhibition Convergence: Health & Creativity. Inspired by Labovitz’s research on the psychological benefits of art, this piece celebrates the connection between art and well-being.
