Art + Autism Fall Workshop

October 28, 2023, 10:00 am to 11:30 am

Dive into the movement of art making in This is Not Black and White. Through a welcome activity, we will use stencils to create patterns in a collaborative work and discuss how we can visit an art museum. When ready, we will move into the gallery and participate in hands-on artwork-related activities that focus on making, writing skills and self affirming statements. We will enjoy a snack of goldfish and juice or water before moving into the studio activity. During this time, we will provide materials to make large abstract paintings with a variety of tools for participants to choose from.

All sessions are developed and instructed by Plains Art Museum Education Staff and Special Education professionals for families with children with Autism. Parents/caregivers may request an orientation prior to the event – contact cprafcke@plainsart.org to schedule.
