Artist Liza Sylvestre will introduce her multidisciplinary work exploring the intersection of our senses and communication and challenging normative design. Following the artist talk, Sylvestre will lead participants through an interactive “blind tour” of current exhibitions at Plains Art Museum. Participants will learn more about how artworks are made accessible to blind/low vision museum attendees. Free.
For more than five decades, Rimer Cardillo’s artwork has offered a powerful commentary on the intersection of politics, economics, and ecological degradation. Since the late 1970s, his practice has focused on the devastating impacts of human activity on the natural world, particularly the alarming decline in animal species and plant life.
