The Prismatic Lovers

of Doktor Thrill

June 4, 2020 - August 15, 2020

Xcel Energy Gallery

Doktor Thrill is an enigma. Being the autobiographical and fictitious brainchild of retired Arizona State Painting Professor Earl Linderman, Doktor Thrill is a symbol saturated with wealth and a taste for lust and mystery. Constantly seeking passion, thrill, and beauty in Linderman’s fictional fantasy world, there are three women that are often found alongside the Doktor.

Thrill’s entourage of femme fatale includes the blonde Snake Lady, the brunette Blue Angel, and the redhead Lotta Heat. The Plains Art Museum is lucky enough to own pieces featuring Snake Lady and Lotta Heat, which are all bold, color-saturated fantasies of twisted shapes and entangled lovers. Each seen with their own powerful allure and connection to Doktor Thrill, the ladies lead adventures of their own. Snake lady is an experienced pilot and entertainer at a Klub, while Lotta Heat will find herself accompanying Thrill in his Mercedes at the Grand Prix.

No Time For Despair

To say that right now is the ideal time to make art that speaks directly to the people about social justice is an understatement. Because the very nature of art is to undertake or assume the role of a healer by shading light on the human condition.
