Plains Art Museum Welcomes New Board Members

Plains Art Museum and its Director and CEO, Andrew J. Maus welcome both new members and officers to its Board of Directors. The Museum is thrilled to continue to be a regional leader in attracting the best leaders of business, culture and education to guide its future and could not be more pleased to announce the following changes to its governance:  

Suzanne Sekske, Senior Digital Program and Acquisitions Manager at Microsoft will be joining the Museum’s Board of Directors. Senske brings her digital engagement skillset as well as her leadership as Culture Program Ambassador and Global Lead of the Indigenous at Microsoft Employee Resource Group. 

Christine Jaeger, former director and founder of Creative Plains Foundation, will join the Museum’s Board of Directors. Jaeger is unmatched in her understanding of the immense need for arts education for all as a way to propel confidence, creativity, and problem solving skills. 

The incoming Board Chair will be Brian Halverson, a member of a new generation of financial and entrepreneurial leadership in Fargo as President of Heartland Trust Company. Joining Halverson in Board leadership as Vice Chair is Carol Schlossman, President and Owner of Insight to Action: Carol Schlossman Consulting. Schlossman is a leader across sectors in Fargo and is a prominent supporter of local and regionally-based artists. 

Plains Art Museum is the largest art museum in the Dakotas and Western Minnesota. It is general admission free and educationally-focused thanks to strong and growing support from over 800 households and businesses. The Museum manages a permanent collection of over 4,000 objects, organizes and presents dozens of annual exhibitions, facilitates public art projects, and leads over 200 educational programs and experiences for all ages each year. The Museum, and its Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Center for Creativity, is located at 704 First Avenue North in downtown Fargo.
