Three hundred years ago, people who look like me came across the ocean to steal and exploit and destroy. I am ashamed of them, of the people who made promises with the intention of breaking them, who tore the world apart for personal gain. I live on the land they stole. But I am not them. I will tell their ugly stories to the world. I look like them, but I will never become them. I am more than the past, I am the future.
